Academic Leadership Program

The College of Human Medicine implemented a program for academic chairs and directors. In addition each unit identified an emerging leader to also participate in the program. The program addressed the needs of the many new and existing leaders in our rapidly growing departments and divisions, and insure uniform standards consistent with MSU-CHM policies and procedures.

The goal of the program was to provide Chairs and Directors with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to be successful academic leaders at Michigan State University (MSU), College of Human Medicine (CHM).

The program ran over a two year period from June 2012—September 2014.

By the end of the program each chair/director revised or developed their academic unit’s Bylaws, Annual Reviews Criteria and Procedures, Reappointment, Promotion and Tenure Criteria and Procedures, and Mission/Vision.
